Lake of Varese Wedding
Where granny was married, too.
The ceremony was held in the impressive Basilica of San Lorenzo where Laura’s grandmother was married at the end of WWII to an American officer stationed in Italy. A tradition has now perpetuated from generation to generation.
Laura is of Italian descent, while Andrew is from Australia. Both were born and raised in New York. However, for their wedding destination they chose Italy. They wanted to discover the beautiful place where Laura’s family came from: the Lake region.
A buffet awaits in the villa’s spectacular Italian garden, with delicious finger food and the finest Italian Prosecco to welcome the 160 guests. In the background a string quartet plays Vivaldi.
The reception is enlivened in a crescendo of joy where nothing is left to chance.
At 4 pm the bride makes her grand entrance in a beautiful dress created for her by a tailor in Milan.
After the ceremony the bride and groom reach the spectacular Villa Andrea on board an old Beetle convertible. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful park, which runs along the shores of Lake Varese.
Delighted guests are pampered by Andrew and Laura, the prefect hosts.
The atmosphere is more vibrant than ever when, back in the garden, the live band announces the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance.
A beautiful late summer evening ensues: dancing, live music and delicious cocktails!
The interior of the villa is expertly decorated, the magnificent frescoes and spectacular chandeliers made of Murano glass give the halls an atmosphere of refined intimacy.
